"Over time, the world of ELT has shifted its focus multiple times. The journey started with accuracy, moved on to fluency, and lately, it has reached intelligibility. Although this change is very much needed and beneficial for both the teacher and the student, it does not end there."

According to Prof. Dr. Cemal Çakır, it is vital for an educator to be techno-vaccinated and techno-immunized. In this time where technology is everywhere, he believes that we need to transform our teachers for this new era. To achieve this, he proposed a new perspective: Teaching English as a Language of Open Sources (TELOS).

With the help of TELOS, learners can be more directly exposed to the target language and a multi-dimensional classroom where concepts such as intercultural communication, self-awareness, and empathy can be created.

His final emphasis was, "Learning is a life-related schemata development, and we need to work towards technological literacy for ELT teachers to increase their capability of traveling in this galaxy of media."
