Session notes:

"Well-being is the state of feeling comfortable, healthy, and happy. Achieving well-being is crucial, especially post-pandemic. As teachers, our well-being directly impacts our students' well-being. Therefore, we should prioritize our emotions as they offer valuable cues to manage stress and bring us back to the present moment.

"Our attention is our most valuable asset as teachers. How we use or misuse it is entirely up to us. Mindfulness is a crucial tool that helps us enhance our awareness. Its incredible features, such as being free, easily accessible, applicable, holistic, scientific, and beneficial for everyone, can transform our teaching approach and how we perceive education. It's not just an isolated activity but rather a perspective. That's why I developed MELT: Mindfulness Enhanced Language Teaching, to integrate mindfulness into our teaching methods."

"Some aspects of MELT and mindfulness include having a beginner's mind, which means experiencing everything as if it is your first time, or acceptance, which says solutions only appear when you accept the problems."

"Learning is more permanent when you attach your emotions. There is much to learn and discover from mindfulness, from gaining self-awareness to helping your students cultivate an open mindset. Remember, it's a choice between being 'mind full' or 'mindful'.'"
